By default, cells are set to loop. Use the Cell Inspector to disable the loop, so that the cell only plays once when triggered.

This is useful for impacts and effects that you want to play at the start of a scene. To record information into an empty cell, select the track you want to record on, move the pointer to the centre of the cell and press the Cell Record button. Quantize using the Cell Inspector. You can switch between the Tracks Area and the Live Loops grid on a track-by-track basis, using the divider between the two parts of the screen.

The region parameter settings displayed are applied to newly recorded regions as realtime playback settings. If several regions are selected, the number of selected regions is displayed, in place of a region name.

If you alter any region parameter, all selected regions are affected. You can alter this parameter for all selected regions, and the value differential will be retained relative alteration. If you want to set all selected regions to the same value, press and hold Option-Shift while changing the value absolute alteration. You can view and edit these parameters by clicking the More disclosure arrow in the Region inspector.
